- Wear footwear appropriate to your job daily
- Make sure they are deep in the toes box and if you have toes that bend a little make sure the toe box is exceptionally deep
- Make sure the shoe is wide enough for your foot
- Wear shoe in side the house and our side the house If going from inside the house to outside change the shoes to suit
- Regular off the shelf shoes should be carefully examined when choosing shoes for a numb foot
- Foot deformities should be carefully addressed when making shoe selections ; clawed toes, deep toe box, corn and calluses special inserts to reduce the frequency of reoccurrence of the corns or calluses (your Podiatrist can help you with this)
- Shoes should be 1-2 cms longer than your foot especially on the inside of your shoe (in other words your feet should not be touching the front of the shoe)
- The width of your shoes should be wider than the width of the foot where your ball of the foot is located (maybe need a diagram)
- All shoes should be tried in the store for wiggle ability, rubbing, appropriate width and length (standing position)
- Customised orthotic or in shoe adaptations maybe necessary to prevent foot problems
